Best locations

tulamben diving

Bali is bigger than you think, and if you’re currently staying in the tourist capital of Kuta, Sanur or Denpasar, you’ll find the best diving spots are usually two to three hours to the east or three hours to the west in the West Bali National Park. Some of the best diving spots are in Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, but for beginners, we highly recommend diving in the calm and shallow waters of Tulamben, where you’ll find the USAT Liberty Shipwreck or the quiet fishing village of Amed in Karangasem, East of Bali.

Listen to your instructor

Diving in Bali is a lot of fun and is generally safe. However, balancing all that underwater pressure with your own weight can be challenging, especially through the changing currents. Remember to be extra aware, especially if it’s your first time diving in Bali. Keep your eyes and ears open for your diving instructor and beware of the currents as it is possible to get lost in them, even if you’re with an instructor.

Inspect your diving equipment

When it comes to diving, your life entirely depends on your diving equipment. Always inspect your equipment first before you start exploring the deep. You can always ask your instructor to have a look if you aren’t familiar with diving equipment yet.

You’re all set to discover Bali’s submerged secrets! All that’s left to do is choose the right dive center for you. Alpha World Diving is based in Sanur and helps divers in Bali earn their certification and organize excellent diving packages in Bali and around Indonesia.
